Mattel Announces Ibtihaj Muhammad Doll, The First Barbie To Wear A Hijab

Olympic fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad is quite a doll – literally. She’s thrilled to have inspired a Barbie in her likeness, and especially proud that the doll will be the first Barbie to wear a hijab.

"During the battle of Al-Jamal, Allah benefited me with a Word (I heard from the Prophet). When the Prophet heard the news that the people of the Persia had made the daughter of Khosrau their Queen (ruler), he said, "Never will succeed such a nation as makes a woman their ruler." Sahih Bukhari (88:219)
EDITOR'S NOTE: Islam treats women like second and/or third class citizens, of that there can be no doubt. One of the most glaring symbols of that misogynistic oppression is the highly restrictive clothing they force their women to wear, like the hijab and the burka. So given the millennial snowflake situation we find ourselves in at the moment, I find it highly ironic that Liberals are celebrating the new Hijab Barbie. I wonder if they will be equally happy with Muslim Woman Being Stoned To Death Barbie, or Muslim Woman Gets Jailed For Being Raped Barbie, too?
“This is a childhood dream come true,” she posted. The doll is part of the “She-ro” line.
“We are so excited to honor Ibtihaj Muhammad with a one-of-a-kind Barbie doll!” Mattel posted. “Ibtihaj continues to inspire women and girls everywhere to break boundaries.”

On its website, Mattel said the new Barbie is "inspiration for countless little girls who never saw themselves represented in sports and culture," adding it hopes the doll "shows girls they can be anything."
Meanwhile, 31-year-old Muhammad described the doll created in her image as a "childhood dream come true."
"Thank you @Mattel for announcing me as the newest member of the @Barbie Shero family! I’m proud to know that little girls everywhere can now play with a Barbie who chooses to wear hijab!" she wrote on Twitter. source
